Customer credit

Explain retained credit with the customer in view

Consult retained customer credit on the customer record, without confusing it with an active points programme.

Keep customer credit connected to its owner

Retained customer balance

Read the points already recorded on the customer file, with a monetary equivalent where available.

Existing credit preserved

Keep the underlying historical entries without presenting them as a newly active points programme.

Customer context

Consult the balance beside the customer identity and purchase information.

Read the credit already recorded for a customer

The customer record shows the retained points balance, with a monetary equivalent when the configured conversion and currency are available. This helps the shop answer a buyer about a balance preserved from its previous activity.

The underlying credit entries are retained so existing obligations are not lost. The current customer view provides the balance; it does not offer an active workflow to earn, spend or withdraw those points.

Understand the retained balance correctly

Historical points. The customer record retains the points balance from previous activity. Its presence preserves context rather than activating a new earning workflow.

The monetary equivalent. Where conversion and currency are configured, the record can show the corresponding amount. Read the value with that conversion context.

No active redemption step. The current customer view does not provide an earn, spend or withdrawal flow. Do not interpret the retained balance as checkout credit being available.

Keep historical credit separate from current payments

A retained customer balance is not a payment-provider refund. Use the original payment and its refund record when the question concerns money actually returned through a gateway.

Membership has its own programme settings and member directory. The historical credit record should not be interpreted as proof that an earning or redemption programme has been restarted for shoppers.

Answer balance questions without promising new rewards

Find the customer record. Confirm the person and inspect the displayed balance. Keep the enquiry attached to their retained account information.

Explain what is recorded. Read points and any monetary equivalent together. Make clear that the view concerns historical retained information.

Direct the payment question. Use payment and refund records when the buyer asks about money actually returned. Membership settings concern a separate programme.

Give customer credit a readable history

Keep existing customer balances understandable alongside the purchase and contact record.
